Two Festivals in a day and new Simon Thacker Recording
I had a rather crazy weekend where I played both The Wigan Jazz festival and the Edinburgh Jazz Festival in the same day. Clocking 400 miles driving whilst playing over three hours of music was quite a toll, but really worth it. I played with Alan Benzie’s Trio in Wigan, and then raced back up to Edinburgh to play with Norwegian Saxophone legend Petter Wettre! Playing with Petter was superb as he has such a strong connection to the tradition of the saxophone.
Aaaaaand in other news, i’m going to be recording with guitarist Simon Thacker’s latest project Ritmata. It’s honestly some of the hardest music i’ve ever played, so keep your eyes and ears ready for when this gets released!
